Like most of those who planned on undertaking the WHWR leg strength was a key factor in my training runs. I'm lucky enough to live a short drive from several 'proper' Hills and serious Mountain's. I planned on a number of 'short' hill runs in the weeks leading up to the WHWR, hoping to strengthen my quads for those many steep decents that we would face. With the great weather and late setting sun I planned out three such Hill runs over one week. The first was Dumgoyne and its little less visited neighbour, Dumfoyn.
